all in good time....E85 is looking better and better every time I read about it, expesialy with gas prices going through the roof! Here is a link to a guy running E85 on a stock turbo Evo....415WHP and 420Wtq. forums.evolutionm.net/showthread.php?t=332329With e85 you need to run alot more fuel to gain the same hp as normal fuel, differance being is that e85 is higher octane for cheaper than c16 race gas. the guys that run 600+hp on e85 are running 1000+ cc injectors. In my neon i run 50/50 mix bone stock and it runs great, but the srts run pig rich stock... as long as your AFR are good you dont need to worry about it...

You dont need to change anything to run e85 exept your fuel delivery, high flow fuel pump, injectors and something to monitor your AFR and EGT's. You see that guy has cams and other S**T thats just an add on but not needed... If you wanted to get cam gear that would help because you can advance your timing do to E85 running cooler and burning slower...But again not needed..

your right, E85 is a higher octane...(102ish), Alcohol has a higher resistance to burn then normal lower octane gasoline, which gives you better knock resistance.
Alcohol has oxygen already in it, that is why you need to run it richer. obviously if your fuel is part oxygen, you need to add even more fuel to compensate for that added oxygen.
I don't plan on running E85 with out a tune, big injectors....880 to 1000, and a walbro.
Don't forget that there is a Summer grade and Winter grade which has different alcohol contents, which should be compensated for in your tune!
ya Cory, Rich is fine!

real modification? Adding a turbine housing that will reduce back pressure and increase horsepower isant a modification? Porting a 02 housing and exhaust manifold for better flow isant a modification?
