well a few weeks ago, i went out to DB and got my car tuned.
it was the first contour danny had ever tuned. he did a AWESOME job. i had an xcal3 waiting for me when i got there, and we did 3 hours of dyno time. danny let me be all nosey the whole time, and we talked for a while. i'd like to say i'll be remembered by first name when i do go back there again, LOL.
when we started, it was a huge hassle for him, startin from scratch, trying to compensate for everything i have changed.
i had a deleted IMRC (intake manifold runner control), deleted EGR & DPFE sensor, 65mm TB with remote iac (can you say idle issues) , my MSD was throwing codes, i had a lean code at cruise speed, causing a huge hiccup and pinging which i couldnt even hear with the hood closed, and of course my spark and fuel tables were all thrown for a 180* loop since i have a 3L and not a 2.5.
needless to say, we did a lot of tuning that day. it was on the rollers for like 4 hours. danny took AT LEAST 50 pulls on the dyno, tweaking the tune ever so slightly between each run. my power started at 212 whp, 200 ft/lbs. keep in mind DB has a low reading dyno..
i ended up at 219 whp, 211 ft/lbs torque. we are fighting my intake manifold setup at this point. to be clear, this is the most HP gained on the setup i have as a N/A setup, and it was nearing 80 degrees by the time we finished.
on a dynojet, i'll probably show much higher peak numbers. i will be going back soon as i get a new upper intake manifold and a better Y pipe for my exhaust. i am going to change my exhaust eventually to a 3" single back, which will split and go to dual mufflers in the rear. so i need a Y pipe that collects at 3" instead of 2.5"
anyways here's the sheet. as you can see, i gained across the board. the car feels twice as fast, even though the sheet doesnt show a huge gain up top.
